Australian Authors Create Storm in Japan
Barbara & Allan Pease Hit No1 Position

Australian authors, Barbara & Allan Pease have created something of a relationship revolution and now have a cult following in Japan, after the publication of their book "Why Men Donít Listen and Women Canít Read Maps" which has sold 350,000 copies , in hard cover alone, on its release, and has shot straight to the No. 1 Position.

"This book has struck a chord in the soul of the Japanese people" said Sadaaki Hayashi, Chief Editor of Shufunotomo Publishing Company.
"People from 18 - 80 years old have been writing to tell us how this book is changing their attitudes to what have been considered traditional Japanese relationships".

London literary agent Darley Andersen has said that the sales of this book are unprecedented for English speaking authors and they confidently anticipate that sales will exceed 1,000,000 copies in Japan alone.

Allan & Barbaraís current tour has included Hungary, USA, Switzerland, Canada, France, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. They are now in Japan to attend a press conference this week with Japans 'whoís who' of the media, and will be honoured at a special function hosted by the Australian Embassy in Tokyo today.

"Why Men Donít Listen and Women Canít Read Maps" shows the differences between male and female brain functions and shows strategies for managing the opposite sex. It has been a bestseller in the UK and was in the top 10 lists for non-fiction.

Allan & Barbara will be available for interviews in Tokyo this week, and will be back in the UK on 20th September 2000 after the launch of the book in the United States.
